My name is Jane Collins and I am your UKIP MEP for Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire.
As a Yorkshire woman from a traditional mining family, I have lived in this region all my life and I passionately care about our people and the issues they face.
My background is in business, rather than politics, but like many of you, I have grown fed up with the traditional parties’ broken promises.
From the horrific bedroom tax and the “green” levies so unfairly imposed on our household fuel bills; to the lack of local investment and good job opportunities for our children, I understand the issues the people of Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire face.
More than ever, this region needs someone who will work for the people of this area, rather than to a party agenda. Through listening to you as my employer, and working to your agenda, I will get a better deal for the people of Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire and build a better future for us all.
As well as representing Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire in the European Parliament I am also the Home Affairs spokeswoman for UKIP, covering areas such as borders, security, policing, prisons and the justice system.
With Brexit we have a great opportunity to bring back those powers ceded to Brussels by successive Labour and Conservative governments, including embarkation controls and the UK courts being supreme - bar none.
I will hold the government to account to make sure we do not find ourselves part of EU projects in the transitional period and beyond: the British people voted for independence and that means we must have control of our own justice and home affairs.
